The empowerment helps one accumulate positive merit and avoid negative actions that shorten life. It can restore auspiciousness during difficult times and overcome obstacles. A longer life provides more time and opportunity to practice the dharma and work towards enlightenment. Receiving this empowerment can raise one’s life force, improving health and warding off negative forces.
Also, on September 3 morning, Ga Lhakhang Rinpoche will perform the Lusang Lutor ritual. Nagas are powerful, ancient beings who reside in natural environments like rivers, lakes, oceans, and forests. They are sensitive to environmental pollution, deforestation, and disharmony. These rituals are performed to address problems caused by naga displeasure. They are often part of a larger Naga Puja, which can help prevent or alleviate issues like skin problems, accidents, illness (such as cancer), and general disharmony. Lusang involves burning a special mixture of incense and herbs to create a fragrant smoke offered to the nagas. Lutor is an elaborate offering of torma.
