From February 14 to 16, Kyabje Ga Lhakhang Rinpoche XIII will lead an online Vajrakilaya Drupcho, a practice for averting all negativity (Phurdok).
A Drupcho is an intensive group practice performed over several days in a retreat setting, reflecting the full depth, power, and precision of the Vajrayana. It is said that participating in a Drubcho can yield the same results as years of solitary retreat.
The Vajrakilaya Drubcho is traditionally held at the end of the lunar year. It is designed to restore broken samayas, purify spiritual defilements accumulated over the past year (and beyond), and eliminate negative influences, bad luck, and obstacles. This Drubcho will clear the path for the upcoming year of the Fire Horse, bringing positive energy, inspiration, happiness, health, prosperity, peace, and auspiciousness.
During this intensive practice, by reciting the Vajrakilaya mantra, we receive the blessings of this powerful deity of purification—the wrathful form of Vajrasattva and the embodiment of the enlightened activity of all Buddhas.
Even those who have not received the Vajrakilaya initiation (wang) can participate in the drupcho.
If you are unable to practice in a strict retreat setting for these three days, you may recite the deity’s mantra while continuing with your daily activities.
The practice will be held online via Zoom.
